The Private Banking team of NBK have become the first group of financial professionals in Kuwait to be awarded the Chartered Wealth Manager (CWM®) certification from the American Academy of Financial Management (AAFM).

 

The thirty-two members of the NBK Private Banking team successfully completed a pre-course study and a four day training course and examination that qualified them for entry into the fellowship of the AAFM and also allows them the right to use the CWM® professional designation on their business cards and other professional correspondence.

 

Global President of the AAFM, Dr. George S Mentz, visited Kuwait for the formal certification presentation ceremony and to congratulate the NBK Private Banking team on becoming Kuwait’s first financial professionals to complete the CWM® phase of the AAFM’s ‘Advanced Wealth Management Development Program’ which comprises a three phase study, training and examination program consisting of Registered Financial Specialist™  (RFS®), Chartered Wealth Manager™ (CWM®) and Master Wealth Professional™ (MWM/MPB®) designations.

 

Presenting the CWM certificates to the team, Adel Al Majed, the General Manager of the Consumer Banking Group at NBK commented on the need for continued professional training leading to best customer practice in order to maintain NBK’s competitive edge.

 

Global President of the AAFM, Dr. George S Mentz,  further commented “The rapid emergence of Private Banking in the Gulf and Middle East has highlighted the need to for increased understanding and training in the latest wealth management techniques to better serve an increasingly knowledgeable client base  with more sophisticated, yet understandable, financial service offerings. The lead AAFM instructor on the CWM® program in the Middle-East, Professor Brett King, commented on the NBK Private Banking team, “This is the first CWM® certified class in Kuwait, and this team now joins the thousands of other CWM® practitioners in the AAFM global membership.
