Now you can enjoy NBK’s SMS Service free of charge. With the subscription, you can choose whether you want to receive real-time alerts for transactions made on your account or NBK Credit Card, offers and more. 

What Can I Do?

NBK SMS Real Time Service will alert you instantly (within 1 minute) after completing a transaction on your bank account or NBK Credit Card or when you complete a transaction, such as:

  • Purchasing through Point of Sale (POS)
  • Cash withdrawal or deposits
  • Crediting of all social allowances
  • Opening or closing accounts
  • Issuing a new credit card and notifying for collection through the delivery company 
  • All debited transactions including: withdrawals, fees, transfers, etc 
  • Changing the PIN number of your Debit Card
  • Salary credit notification 
  • Transfer of funds 
  • Paying bills 
  • Purchasing through the internet 
  • Cash advance transactions on Credit Cards through any NBK ATM or NBK Online Banking
  • The SMS will show you the amounts debited or credited as well as the remaining balance 
  • The service is available on Zain, Ooredoo and VIVA networks
  • NBK Call Center agents are able to send you your IBAN via SMS on your registered mobile number in the NBK system  
  • Monthly auto debit for NBK Credit Cards

  • You can download the NBK Mobile Banking App and subscribe under the “Self-Services” tab
  • You can login to NBK Online Banking and go to “Self-Services” and subscribe to SMS

    • A real-time SMS will be sent for any transactions above KD 10, made on your account or credit card, through any channel
    • You can change the threshold to KD 0, KD 10, KD 20, KD 30, KD 40, KD 50 by logging into NBK Online Banking or visiting the branch

    You can subscribe through NBK Online Banking, or call the NBK Call Center at 1801801 or visit any NBK branch.

  3. When do I receive the SMS message?

    SMS service will alert you instantly once you complete one of the following transactions:

    • Purchases through Point of Sale
    • Make internet purchases
    • Make cash withdrawals or deposits
    • Receive a salary, allowance or transfer
    • Open or close accounts
    • Your new credit card has been issued and is ready for pick-up
    • Make withdrawals, transfers and automated payments
    • Change the PIN number of your debit card
    • Establish a standing order

    Note: the SMS messages will show you the amounts debited or credited as well as the remaining balance

    If you have roaming service on your mobile phone line, you will receive the SMS alerts in USD.
