Our community investment approach focuses on impactful development aligned with the UN SDGs. We are reimagining our role in social responsibility to better serve the communities we operate in. Recognizing the urgency of today’s environmental and social challenges, we are strategically directing our efforts to maximize long-term positive impact.
CSR Focus Areas
We aim to enhance community well-being and social impact through targeted outreach and tailored communication, driving awareness, engagement and advocacy across stakeholders for a meaningful and lasting connection.
NBK is committed to empowering women through initiatives and awareness programs that aim at encouraging and developing the social and economic representation of women.
Our environmental initiatives reflect our commitment to a safe and healthy environment. We strive to raise awareness and engage communities in protecting and conserving natural resources for a sustainable future.
At NBK, we consider healthcare a core pillar of our social responsibility. We actively support various healthcare sectors, focusing on providing essential medical facilities and enhancing the overall quality of life within the community.
Our people are our greatest asset. We prioritize their well-being through a holistic approach that supports both physical and mental health, with tailored programs that embed wellness into every part of our organization.
We believe youth are the foundation of society. Through strategic partnerships, we develop tailored programs that empower young people and unlock their potential through education and skill-building.
We are committed to empowering our communities not only by expanding our efforts in social responsibility but also by making banking more accessible and affordable to all. We believe financial inclusion and financial literacy empower all individuals by equipping them with the right skills and knowledge to recognize the value of the resources at the reach of their hands.
In partnership with MOE and Nazaha, we launched Bankee to promote financial inclusion among students. Using an interactive classroom economy, it teaches earning, spending, and saving, fostering a resilient financial culture in Kuwait’s youth. The Bankee program in Kuwait has reached:

NBK strongly believes in the importance of nurturing the Kuwaiti youth by attracting talents and providing them with all means of support to help them navigate their way into the labor market. Our strategy and approach strongly align with Kuwait National Development Plan (KNDP) and serve the country’s strategic agenda to drive economic growth and create job opportunities for the Kuwaiti youth.
Since 2008, we have welcomed national talent from Kuwait’s top universities through the NBK Academy. This 7-month program offers intensive training in tech, behavior, design thinking, and banking, supporting career growth and Kuwait’s nationalization goals.
